CONTEXT
Every February, the Brit Awards bring together the best of international music, and Mastercard has been the proud sponsor of this iconic event for over 20 years. For the 2018 edition, MRM McCann invited us to create a promotional video that would capture Mastercard’s enthusiasm and commitment to the music scene. This time, we collaborated with the legendary “Gipsy Kings” to launch the “Espanglish” contest, inviting participants to put their own twist on performing songs in English with a cultural blend.

THE BRIEF
Our task was to create an audiovisual piece that would convey the spirit of the contest while celebrating the creativity and diversity of the Brit Awards.

HOW DID WE GET THERE?
To bring the contest’s playful energy to life, we combined British pop iconography with the rise of gifs, crafting a modern surrealist visual style. Using chroma key techniques and cutouts of iconic characters, we created a dynamic, layered universe that celebrates the vibrant creativity of the Brit Awards and Mastercard’s ongoing support for unique artistic expression.
